Business Transactional/Real Estate Lawyer

Position Overview:
RKW Law Group is seeking an experienced Business Transactional/Real Estate Lawyer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of advising both start-up and established businesses, including for-profit and non-profit entities. This role demands a friendly and intelligent professional, capable of working effectively with clients and colleagues alike. Key Responsibilities:
The Business Transactional Lawyer will be responsible for managing a wide array of corporate and real estate matters. This includes handling all aspects of mergers and acquisitions, drafting and negotiating partnership and business agreements, advising on and preparing appropriate documents for succession plans, preparing corporate documents such as by-laws and corporate minutes, drafting and reviewing corporate leases and financing agreements. You will play a pivotal role in providing strategic legal advice that aligns with the business objectives of our clients. Your ability to navigate complex transactions and offer insightful counsel is essential to your success.

Experience Required:
Qualified candidates must have substantial experience in business transactions, with a strong background in advising both start-up ventures and established companies across various sectors. Experience with government contractors and non-profit organizations is highly desirable. A comprehensive understanding of mergers and acquisitions, partnership agreements, and corporate governance is essential. Candidates should possess a Maryland bar license; additional bars, including D.C., are a bonus.

Labor/Employment Lawyer

Key Responsibilities:
The Labor/Employment Lawyer will work in a collaborative manner to draft and prepare employment agreements, severance agreements, employee handbooks and policies, employee communications; advise on onboarding, accommodations, disciplinary questions and termination procedures; counsel on employee classifications and regulatory compliance; assess workplace practices to reduce risk exposure; ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws; train managers on workplace best practices; provide crisis management guidance when unexpected HR issues arise; help employers choose the best course of action to mitigate risk; handling/advising on workplace investigations; draft position statements for EEOC and state administrative agencies; handle administrative hearings, mediations, and litigation.  

Experience Required:
Qualified candidates must have at least five (5) years’ experience in advising clients on Human Resources matters, handling EPLI defense cases, and have an interest in understanding the unique workplace culture for each individual client. We also work with governing boards, so understanding by-laws and board governance dynamics is important.
